The Fam

Brandee -

I’m the one whose ramblings you listen to, whose Tweets you roll your eyes at, and who is running the show around here. I’m 30 (gasp! when did THAT happen?), and I’m currently enjoying my 1 year of maternity leave (afforded to me courtesy of the Canadian government cha-ching) with my daughter Everly Delilah.

Other than being a mom, I am a girl who likes to travel a lot – even if that means just driving to the suburbs to get out of the house. I like music, but not the kind you’ll hear on the radio. I am a big fan of unusual colour combos like purple and red. I have 3 tattoos and no idea what colour my hair actually is. As you can tell, I am Canadian, which means I tend to use superfluous U’s in a lot of words. I am the farthest thing from artistic you can imagine, and I am no good at interior design or knowing how to make my ‘space’ look nice (thank jeebus for the hubs). I cannot, and will never be able to, roller skate, ski, snowboard or skateboard (the moral is, don’t strap anything to my feet and ask me to exercise good balance).

I am working on taking things one day at a time, and keeping my cool. I am generally sarcastic, and witty and I try not to take things too seriously. After all, it’s only life and no one get’s out alive.

Me, 9 months preggers:

Andrew (aka – the hubs. I know it’s not cool if his name isn’t Scott, but you do what you can)

Where do I start on the hubs? He is almost as crazy as I am. He plays guitar and writes song, and even though HE thinks they suck, I think they are awesome and someone should give him a recording contract. We met long before we ever dated, but I’m going to leave those details for another page.

In order to support our little family, he works his fingers to the bone designing all those cool video games you wish your kids and husbands would step away from. It sounds like all sorts of fun and glamour, but believe me it isn’t. It’s a lot of work and late hours….especially with those Kegs in the kitchen. It does give him an excuse to own every game console known to man (he assures me this is not actually the case), and buy lots of games – it’s for research after all hunny!

He’s got a great sense of humour, and is never afraid to have a good time and get a little crazy with me. One of my favourite things is how much we laugh together – even if the subject is inappropriate. He makes me completely insane, but I love him dearly and he is proving himself to be an outstanding daddy!

Every boy loves Star Wars!

(and if there is any indication that this man is hilarious? That’s him dressed as a giant poo – complete with corns, sitting on the toilet at Halloween. He also put paper poo smears around the house. Also, he drew on his own sharpie marker mustache, and is trying to get himself into my pink socks while wearing my tank top).

Everly

I’m pretty sure the little one needs no real introduction. I mean, she’s why we’re all here, isn’t she?

Tuker Tuxeedo

My first baby, Tuker (pronounced Tuck-Er not Took-er) is an INSANE Boston Terrier who is all sorts of love. Yes he pee’s on the hubs pillow, and yes we had to remove 8 teeth in January because he does things like carry sticks the size of me around, but we love him. Really, would wouldn’t?

It’s true. Scott is the go-to name for cool husbands of Mommy Bloggers. lol. But, in my book Andrew is a close second, since it’s my brother’s name.
